About Us:

  • Who we are: The Western Reserve Calligraphers is a  group of lettering artists in Northeast Ohio. We meet almost every month at either the University Heights Branch of Cleveland Heights/University Heights Library or the Strongsville Library.
  • Our programs cover a variety of topics related to calligraphy, often focusing on innovative and contemporary art forms that incorporate lettering.
  • Beginners are welcome to join us any time — no previous experience is necessary.
  • So whether you’re an accomplished calligrapher or you just appreciate beautiful lettering, feel free to stop in to one of our meetings. We’re a fun and friendly group, and we love to have new people join us!

All Western Reserve Calligraphers members are welcome, as are friends, family, pets, and guests!  Lakewood Park is a beautiful setting with a big playground for the kiddos, a lovely walking path, and excellent views of Lake Erie and our downtown skyline.  Bring a dish to share and a lawn chair.  The event is rain or shine, so bring an umbrella!
In addition, we are kickstarting our 2014 Membership Drive with a drawing for a $25 gift card to Pat Catan's.  Everyone who has already paid for 2014 will have their name in the hat, and everyone who pays dues at the picnic will be eligible as well.  Don't miss a fun opportunity to turn your dues (tax deductible!) into products you can use in your work!
Hope to see everyone there for a relaxing afternoon among friends!
